PGA: TOUR Championship – 9/21-9/24

East Lake CC Atlanta, GA

Field- Final 30 golfers remaining in the FedEx Cup Playoffs

This week is the final week of fantasy golf and it might possibly be the hardest week to judge due to the small field. Most weeks the key to winning daily fantasy is finding a diamond in the rough or a lower value guy that make the cut and scores close to the top 10. However, this week I’d recommend spending the money and buying some of the Top Tier guys. You are going to want to get some guys that can possibly win the FedEx cup by winning at East Lake. The last 3 champions of the TOUR Championship (McIlroy, Spieth, Horschel) all have been in the top 5 of the FedEx cup heading into the final week of the Playoffs.

Several keys to winning at East Lake that you might want to keep in mind when choosing your lineup this week.

·         Strokes gained tee to green
·         Driving accuracy %
·         Greens hit in regulation
·         Scrambling/ Up and downs
·         Putting %

Guys who keep the ball in play usually play well at East Lake, However length really isn’t an issue, the course makes you keep the driver in the bag but even the shorter hitter can take advantage of some shorter par 4s. Since 2012, every winner has been in the Top 10 of Driving accuracy for the year.

My Lineup for the week.

Tier 1
·         Rickie Fowler (10,900)
o   Rickie is coming off a T2 last week at the BMW, look for him to continue his good play and win at the Tour Championship
·         Justin Thomas (9,900)
o   JT has been solid all year and in a tournament with no cuts he is a great play in this week’s lineup. He makes a lot of birdies and has the capability of shooting really low, ex: US Open 62 and PGA 64
Tier 2
·         Patrick Cantlay (7,800)
o   Patrick is also coming off a good week at the BMW where he finished 12 under and a top 10 finish. He hits the ball straight which is a key at East Lake, I predict another top 10 for him this week.

·         Charlie Hoffman (7,300)
o   Charlie has been consistent all year and is another guy capable of stringing together a lot of birdies. I can see Charlie as being a possible dark horse to win this week and finally raise the trophy this year.
Tier 3
·         Tony Finau ( 7,100)
o   At 7,100 Tony Finau is a great value, he played well last week (T7) and can hit the ball a mile. Look for him to take advantage of the short par 4s and make some easy birdies.
·         Daniel Berger (6,900)
o   Daniel is someone that has yet to really play well on the big stage, however he did put together a few good rounds last week to sneak him into the final 30. He struggled with the putter last week, but hit the ball pretty consistently from tee to green, an area that will keep you in the tournament at East Lake. Look for him to dial in the putter and have a solid finish this week.
Total: 50,000

Good Luck
